Armed Yacht ‘Peggy’
There is surprisingly little framework to hold ‘Peggy’ together! Here at the bow, we can see the collars for the foremast and bowsprit and the mast step. ‘Peggy was fitted with three sliding keels (daggerboards), which were just being tried out on ships in the Royal Navy, so she was very advanced for her time. Apart from the slots visible in the keel, there doesn’t appear to be evidence of cases for these boards to slide in.
